Hi, I’m Ryan!

I am a forty-something dude with muscular dystrophy and a love for the outdoors. This place aims to be a small chronicle of things I do and enjoy, as well as how my body handles it.

My girlfriend encouraged me to build this site and share our adventures because as an introvert I never would have done this! lol Jokes aside, she is my partner in travels and life, I couldn’t do what I do without her.

Thanks for stopping by.

Age43
DiagnosisFSHD
Diagnosis Year2004
Major SymptomsFoot drop, hyper lordosis,
scapular winging, bicep/tricep atrophy

When I was first diagnosed it was a big no-no to exercise a lot because the affected muscles waste away quicker. Now there appears to be some evidence that some can be beneficial, so that is encouraging. I came across Bill and Mitch on instagram and saw amazing progress and actually spoke with them about working out with FSH, it planted a seed of hope in me and therefore I am (finally) getting around to attempting more outdoor and active events. Stick around!

Also, follow me on instagram for short photo posts 🙂
